About
Andrew is a freelance trumpet player and teacher based in Glasgow, Scotland. As an orchestral player he regularly plays with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Scottish Opera and Orchestra of Scottish Ballet as well as further afield. He spent six months playing with the Bavarian Orchestra the Hofer Symphoniker in 2009 and has ‘trialed’ trumpet jobs in a variety of notable British Orchestras. He is a member of the well known Pure Brass Quintet and a founder member of the Trumpet Soprano and Piano Trio, Seraphim, both members of the Live Music Now Scotland organisation and busy within the Scottish chamber music scene.
Andrew is also the Brass teacher at Fettes College Edinburgh, Kelvinside Academy Glasgow, and in Glasgow state schools. Working with young people of all ages and backgrounds has been a part of Andrew’s career since graduating from his MMus degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and something in which he takes great pride and pleasure.
